🎆 THE BIG ONE: OCEAN CITY'S JULY 4TH CELEBRATION
🎸 6:00 PM — The Broken Hearts: A Tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
This group brings massive historical credibility to the stage. They aren't just a cover band; they were formed in 2017 by Charlie Souza, an original Gainesville, Florida rock alumnus and former bandmate of Tom Petty himself in the pre-Heartbreakers band Mudcrutch.
The Vibe: Because of the Gainesville connection, the band leans heavily into the gritty, raw "live concert" energy of a 1980s Heartbreakers show rather than just mimicking the studio tracks. Expect deep-cut guitar work and authentic Florida rock history.
🎨 7:00 PM — Live Speed Painter Jessica K. Haas
Billed as America's first female speed painter—and named "The Mother of the Speedpainting Movement" by New York Magazine—Jessica K. Haas delivers a high-energy, performance-art spectacle.
The Vibe: She paints massive, oversized canvases live on stage, completely synchronized to a high-octane musical soundtrack. The magic of her show is the reveal; she often paints upside down or uses hidden techniques so the crowd doesn’t fully realize what patriotic or pop-culture icon she is creating until the final moments of the performance.
💎 8:00 PM — Real Diamond: The Premier Neil Diamond Tribute Band
Fronted by Curtis Di Domizio, this massive 12-piece powerhouse is widely considered the gold standard of Neil Diamond tributes.
The Vibe: Since Neil Diamond’s retirement from touring, this band has filled a massive void for fans. The sheer size of the ensemble—featuring a full 3-piece horn section, dual keyboards (played by PC and Danielle), and backing vocalists (Debbie F. and Denise M.)—allows them to completely replicate the lush, stadium-level symphonic arrangements of the Hot August Night era. It is a massive sing-along generator right before the fireworks hit.
🎆 9:30 PM — The Grand Finale
The live entertainment leads directly into the synchronized town-wide spectacular. At 9:30 PM sharp, the sky lights up simultaneously over the downtown surf at N. Division Street and uptown over the lagoon at Northside Park (125th Street) to celebrate the Independence Day milestone.
7:00 PM — The Early Window: The park's massive 58-acre footprint begins to fill. Families and early arrivals typically claim their lawn spots during this hour.
8:00 PM — Live Music Begins: Free entertainment kicks off on the main stage, filling the broad lawn with music as the sun sets over the water.
9:30 PM — The Fireworks Spectacular: The sky lights up simultaneously with the downtown show, but with a completely unique aesthetic. The fireworks launch over the lagoon, providing vibrant, mirror-like water reflections against the backdrop of the open bay.

🌎 BEYOND OC — WORTH THE DRIVE
Bethany Beach (7/4) — Uncaged takes the stage for the 7:30 PM concert, with fireworks to follow. Note: this year's parade has been postponed with no new date announced yet, so plan around the concert and fireworks only.
Lewes, DE (7/4) — A full day of small-town Independence Day tradition: Old-Fashioned Kid's Games (9 AM–12 PM), a Car Show (12–3 PM), the Boat Parade on the Canal (1:30–3:30 PM), and the homegrown Doo-Dah Parade (~4:30–5 PM). It all wraps with the Go Fourth Lewes fireworks around dusk, launched over the bay off Lewes Beach — a community-funded show now in its 8th year.
